== Special General Meeting ==
A  Special General Meeting of AUSOM Incorporated. will be held on 
Saturday April 5 commencing at 12 noon.

The meeting will take place in the Main Auditorium, Building 4, Elgar 
Road Campus of Box Hill TAFE.

The purpose of this meeting is to present for acceptance the 
amendments to the AUSOM Rules of Association.

The rules with proposed amendments can be downloaded from the AUSOM 
web site or from the AUSOM FirstClass BBS

Hard copies are available on request from the AUSOM office.



== MAIN PRESENTATION - Symantec ==
David Hall of Symantec Australia returns to demonstrate important 
utility software for Mac OS X. He'll be covering Norton Utilities, 
Norton Anti-Virus , plus a hush-hush yet-to-be-announced suite of new 
products.

== SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS ==
AUSOM runs many Special Interest Groups each month.  Here is a 
selection of what a few are doing this month.


-- Digital Photography & Video: Main Auditorium 1:30pm - 3:00pm --
A presentation of"Final Cut Express" by Brendon Field from DesignWyse 
will wet our appetites for what comes after iMovie.

All serious movie makers should not miss either of this months presentations.


-- iMovie Hands On: Main Auditorium 10:30am - 11:30am --
This month we have a presentation of "iMovie 3" from John Cleary an 
Apple Reseller. He will address the audio problems which this upgrade 
has  presented movie makers with, as well as the many new features 
which work well.


-- Mac OS X Advanced:  Main Auditorium 4:00pm - 5:00pm --
Will be covering the use of iCal, iSync, Address Book and .Mac to 
share important information like Appointments and Contact Details 
amongst multiple devices and computers.

-- Microsoft Office: Room 1.58 2:00pm - 3:00pm ==
This months session will show how to design a sheet so that it can be 
folded in four, for use as an invitation.  The problem is that before 
folding the text on pages 1 and 4 appears upside down to the text on 
pages 2 and 3.   This problem can be solved using Word and we'll 
compare two of these solutions.

The second half of the session will cover designing a form.  We will 
examine the method of protecting a sheet, and the locking and 
un-locking of fields for the users of the form.  We will discuss the 
effectiveness of this method is when the form is printed before use.

== RETIREES & OTHERS SIG ==
Apart from our main meeting on the First Satuday of each month, AUSOM also
runs a session mid-month.

The R&O SIG is held at the Baptist Church Hall, corner of Parring and 
Whitehorse Roads, Balwyn (Melways 46/F8) between 10.00 am and 12 noon 
on the second Wednesday of every month. Morning tea/coffee & biscuits 
are available @ 30 cents or $3.00 per year. Visitors are most welcome.

AUSOM has published an iCal detailing the dates and times of our Main 
Monthly Meetings (the first Saturday) and the R&O Group (2nd 
Wednesday).
