From publicity at ausom.net.au Tue Dec 4 18:56:19 2007 From: publicity at ausom.net.au (AUSOM Publicity) Date: Wed, 5 Dec 2007 10:56:19 +1100 Subject: [AUSOM-Announcements] AUSOM iMac Raffle Winner Announced Message-ID: <82138A38-1AAC-48C4-8FCA-2CEF337F26B8@ausom.net.au> The AUSOM major raffle prize of a 24" Intel iMac (Core 2 Duo) was drawn by Committee Member Pam Doughty at 4pm on 1 December at the Saturday Meetings Day at Box Hill Institute. The draw was performed in front of a large body of members. The winner was Ruth Shapcott of Ashburton. President Dick Johnson and Raffle Master Brian Moore delivered the prize to Ruth at her home, following the close of the meeting. Ruth subsequently sent the following email expressing her Many Thanks ;) --- Start Message --- From: Ruth Shapcott Date: 4 December 2007 6:46:06 PM Subject: My many thanks To President, Dick Johnson, and my fellow members, It was with great delight and amazement answering the phone on Saturday and learning that I had won the AUSOM raffle. I?m the lady who sits alongside the lucky door recipient, who buys the adjoining ticket, for the side of beef, the beautiful plant or that holiday for 2 in exotic places. What wondrous elation at being "THE WINNER". Twenty four hours later, I realise that I now have a few problems. Will I go ADSL, or cable or even wireless? Do I update my ancient mobile and go Blackberry to complement this amazing MAC? Do I even give up my trusty and well travelled 35mm camera and go for a SLR digital? What problems!!! My loving daughter?s retort,(after listening to my lament this morning), "Mother leave the fossil age, venture into new areas and teat it as a brain exercise." Yes, I will, once again using the friendly expertise and help from the volunteers of our AUSOM Club when required. My immense thanks and gratitude to the Club, my sincere best wishes for all it?s future endeavours in it?s new home in Prahran. May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy healthy, and exciting year 2008. Alongside our constant and faithful companions, our Apple Mac. Regards, Ruth Shapcott. --- End Message --- Photos of Ruth accepting the 24" iMac and more information about the raffle can be found at http://www.ausom.net.au/raffle.html AUSOM would like to thank all those who participated in the 2007 AUSOM 24" iMac Raffle and we look forward to seeing you all again next year... either at our new Main Meeting location at Swinburne University Prahran, or at the R&O and 3MG meetings at Balwyn Baptist Hall. -- AUSOM Publicity (publicity at ausom.net.au) AUSOM Incorporated - Australia's Leading Apple Macintosh User Group Office: 247 Flinders Lane Melbourne Victoria 3000 AUSTRALIA Phone & Fax: +61 3 9654-1924 Email: office at ausom.net.au Website: http://www.ausom.net.au/ From publicity at ausom.net.au Fri Dec 28 21:34:04 2007 From: publicity at ausom.net.au (AUSOM Publicity) Date: Sat, 29 Dec 2007 13:34:04 +1100 Subject: [AUSOM-Announcements] January Update Message-ID: Just a reminder that there are NO AUSOM meetings held during January. -- February Meeting -- AUSOM meetings recommence February 2nd at a new location - Swinburne University Prahran Campus and we have an awesome line up ready for you.
