Monthly meeting - Saturday, 5 April 2008

Main presentation - Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac
Microsoft's Austraiian Product Manager Julia Nicolls will demonstrate  
the features of this major upgrade to one of the most widely used  
software packages on the Mac.

Members and visitors attend Swinburne University, Prahran Campus  
(High Street, Prahran) on the first Saturday of each month (except  
January) between 9.30am and 5.00pm for a wide variety of meetings on  
the use of the Apple Macintosh computer in digital photography,  
iPods, home movies, genealogy, finance, databases, the Internet,  
Excel, Word,  networking and many other topics. The location is  
convenient to tram and train and there is ample parking. Lunch may be  
purchased on site and vendors sell small computer items such as CDs,  
DVDs, ink jet cartridges, cables etc. We have a monthly raffle of  
valuable prizes such as iWork software, the iPod shuffle etc.

Colour Management: Monitor and Printer Calibration via Services and DIY
Presented by Image Science, a company which offers digital imaging

The Macintosh Multimedia Group [3MG] is a joint venture between AUSOM  
Inc and iMug. It meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the  
Balwyn Baptist Church (cnr Whitehorse and Parring Roads,  Melway 46  
F8) from 7.00pm to 10.00pm (doors open at 7.00pm).

Retirees & Others SIG - Wednesday, 9 April 2008

Pages demonstration
AUSOM President Dick Johnson will demonstrate Pages in its more  
routine functions as a word processor. Pages is part of the iLife  
suite of Apple applications. Stationery, newsletters, resumes,  
brochures, reports, proposals, business cards —whatever you write,  
Pages offers an intuitive way to create beautiful, media-rich  
documents using impressive features you know how to use right away.

Favourite shareware
Pat Tasker (R&O SIG Leader) will talk about some of her favourite  
shareware applications. Members are invited to bring along some of  
their own.

This group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Balwyn  
Baptist Church (cnr Whitehorse and Parring Roads,  Melway 46 F8) from  
10.00am to 12noon.

AUSOM Committee of Management Meetings
The AUSOM Committee of Management (CoM) usually meets on the  
Wednesday night two weeks before the next Main Meeting (this is  
usually, but not always the the second Wednesday of each month) at  
247 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

If you'd like to submit information for the Committee's  
consideration, please email com at ausom.net.au or write to AUSOM  
Committee, 247 Flinders Lane, Melbourne 3000.  If the submission is  
received by the Monday evening prior to the Committee Meeting, it can  
be placed on the agenda for consideration at that next meeting,  
otherwise it may be held over until the meeting.

NOTE: AUSOM has relocated in 2008
Monthly Meeting days have relocated to Swinburne University Prahran  
Campus as of the February meeting (there were no AUSOM meetings held  
in January).

The Campus is located quite close to the intersection of High St and  
Chapel St, Prahran and easily accessible by various forms of public  
transport (tram stop right out the front, a train station only a few  
minutes walk away) and there are plenty of options for driving a car
