AUSOM Announcements - November 2008

Monthly meeting - Saturday, 1 November 2008

Main presentation - Marc Edwards from IceTV - Elgato TV tuners, Ice TV
and how they work together on the Mac.

Several types of Elgato TV tuners running Eye TV software are
available for Macs.

IceTV is Australia's leading interactive TV guide for free-to-air
television. Recording digital free-to-air TV with IceTV —simply view
the onscreen TV guide, highlight the program you'd like, then press
record.

Once recorded, your TV programs appear in your library with their
name, episode name and description. Watch, pause, rewind or fast
forward anything you've recorded.

Note: SIG times in the November edition of AUSOM News.
For the 1 November meeting, SIG times have inadvertently been omitted
from the timetable on the back page of AUSOM News. Times are unchanged
from October so MOST sessions prior to 12 start on the half hour (9:30
being the first) and those after noon start on the hour. GarageBand is
the excepion - the times ARE on the timetable for that SIG.

Members and visitors attend Swinburne Univeristy, Prahran Campus (High
Street, Prahran) on the first Saturday of each month (except January).
The meeting runs between 9.30am and 5.00pm. Special interest group
meetings cover using Apple Macs in digital photography, iPods, home
movies, genealogy, finance, databases, the Internet, Excel, Word,
networking and many other topics. The location is convenient to tram
and train and there is ample parking. Lunch may be purchased on site.
We have a monthly raffle of valuable prizes including software and
hardware.
