Palong Cultural and Literature Conference Held in Nam Kham:

With an aim to promote the culture and literature, Palong cultural and
Literature conference was held from March 21 to 23, at Nam Kham Town of
Shan State in Burma.

According to a local, the conference was held at Nam Kham Town following
the denial of permission by the authorities to hold in Kotkai Town in
Shan State.

As the main agenda of the conference, it suggests that the conference
was organized by the Palong Cultural and Literature Organization.

The conference was attended by over 2000 Palongs from all over the
region, along with the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC)
officials of the region.

According to a regional trader, the conference, which aims to promote
the Culture and Literature of the Palongs is held once every four years
and it is also learnt that this is the eighth annual conference.
