Message-ID:
Hi Folks,
Abby Brewer '06 has organized an opportunity for members of the chorus
to perform for the residents of the Rivercrest Deaconess Nursing Home
on Saturday. Please encourage your child to participate. It will be
great PR for the CCHS program, and the residents are sure to enjoy it.
Kathy Kennedy has arranged for the students to receive community
service credit.
Here are some of the details:
Students should meet in the lobby at the main entrance of the
Rivercrest Deaconess, off Old Road to Nine Acre Corner (first left
after the Emerson Hospital driveway after you cross route 2 ) at 1:30pm
on Saturday, January 24.
There is no specific dress requirement, but students should look neat
and err on the conservative side.
The performance will begin at 2:00 and be over at about 3:00.
If you have any questions, contact Abby. It is so wonderful to have a
student take such initiative!

http://ccpops.org/Fiddler2004/ticket_form.html. Order forms can be dropped
off in Erica Karban's main office mail box or in her math office mailbox. (I
don't have a G block exam that morning so I'll be waiting for the hoards of
people to bring me forms :-)) Online sales (http://ccpops.org/buyTickets/)

require a pay pal account (you can create one if you don't have one). All

When purchasing tickets online, each performance must be done separately. If
ordering via the order form, all performances can be placed on one form.
Please do not email me ticket orders. Orders will only be filled if they are
purchased online or a form is filled out.

Greetings!
Please remember that the CCPOPS February monthly meeting has been CHANGED to Tuesday, February 3. We will meet in the CCHS library at 7:00 and begin business at 7:15. 'Fiddler' will be our focus!
ALSO, the mandatory meeting for anyone intersted in joining the Chorus Trip to Virginia Beach is scheduled for Monday, February 2 at 7:00pm sharp in the CCHS Upper Gym. School regulations stipulate that every student participating in a school-sponsored trip must be present when the principal reviews the rules & expectations for behavior during the trip. Each student must be accompanied by at least one parent/guardian. Attendance will be taken.
One last thing - my Comcast service has been disrupted so I currently do not have easy access to email. Please phone if you need to contact me.
Thanks very much and I look forward to seeing you!

Hi Everyone,
Although the deadline for personal ads has passed and we can no longer
accept those for the Fiddler playbill, there is still space on the
'Tributes' page and therefore time for you to send your congratulations
and other sentiments to the people involved with this amazing
production!
Your tribute (name or text only) can be listed in the Benefactor
section for donations over $50; as a Contributor for donations of $21
to $50; or as a Patron for donations up to $20.
Your support is greatly appreciated and with a 99-page Playbill
complete with a gorgeous color cover, your place in history is
guaranteed as the Fiddler playbills will be treasured souvenirs!
Forms can be downloaded from . You may email your message
to Patty Hecht at and then get
a check to her at 71 Brister's Hill Road, Concord, or give her a hard
copy with a check.
This offer expires at 5:00 on Thursday, so act fast! If you have any
questions, don't hesitate to contact me. There are over 120 CCHS
students involved with Fiddler and the income CCPOPS garners from the
playbill ads funds our programs for many more! Your support does have
huge impact.
Many thanks.

PHOTO CD--
an EXCITING NEW PRODUCT never before offered by CCPOPS!
The Fiddler Photo CD contains over 330 photos of the performance (130 MORE
pics than you can view online). The photo images on the CD are
full-resolution JPEG files (meaning, they are standard digital photo
files). You can insert the CD in your home computer to view all 330
images onscreen, and output your favorites to your home printer. You can
also bring the CD to any local photo shop (such as Concord's Photo Depot)
to have them make traditional photo prints of your favorites (prints from
a photo finisher will last many years without fading or discoloring).
Fiddler Photo CDs cost $30.00 and proceeds benefit CCPOPS. We have them IN
STOCK NOW. The way to purchase a Fiddler Photo CD this weekend is at the
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances (find us at the Photo Table in
the lobby). Next week we will have order forms posted online to take your
orders by mail.
AND THAT'S NOT ALL
...We will also take orders for Fiddler Videos and Cast Album music CDs in
the lobby this weekend.
See you at the show!

Competition in Virginia Beach scholarship fund! Coupons can be
downloaded from the website and were distributed with the 'Fiddler'
playbills - or give me a shout and I'll be glad to deliver some to you.
It doesn't cost you a penny. Just submit a coupon every time you shop
at Crosby's this week, and Crosby's will donate a percentage of the
total amount spent during the week. We want every interested student to
be able to participate in this trip, so please remember to submit your
coupons! Shop early, shop often and distribute your extra coupons to
friends and neighbors (outside the boundaries of Crosby's property,
though!)
Thanks so very much!

200 shots of last week's amazing performance. As you click on the
thumbnail views to bring each photo up in the main window, note that there
is a 4-digit ID number above the window. To order prints from CCPOPS,
write down the ID numbers of your favorite pics, then go to
www.ccpops.org/media to print out a photo order form. Fill in the form and
send it with your check made out to "CCPOPS" to Kathy Boucher at the
address on the form. Prints are $1.50 each, and the minimum order is 5.
Your photos will be sent to you by mail shortly.
Note that you can also find everything you need if you just go to
www.ccpops.org and look for links to the photos and forms.
That's all there is too it--it's easy! As they say on TV: "Don't
delay--order yours today!"
-John Brewer
PS: Also note that when you view the photos online, you can add comments
to any of them. It's a great way to share your reactions and (totally
objective) rave reviews regarding the actors, musicians, crew and
everything about the show! Look for the "Comment on this Photo" button
just below the main viewing window. Your comments and everyone else's will
be visible for all to read.

We have just posted the black & white photo portraits (a.k.a. "headshots")
of each of the Fiddler cast members. They were taken by student
photographer Chris Daniels (these are the same photos that were displayed
in the lobby during the show). You can order prints of any of the shots
directly from Chris (his phone and email are posted with the photos). They
make great keepsakes or gifts!
Also, we have a variety of snapshots taken by Lucy Miller of the Front of

Subject: [ccpops] Spreading the vouchers!
Message-ID:
Hi Folks,
Beginning this Sunday, Crosby's Market will donate 5% of the receipts
of all shoppers who submit a 'Crosby's Community Commitment Voucher'.
This money will go directly to the scholarship fund to help several
students travel with the chorus and other ensembles to compete in the
North American Music Festival in Virginia at the end of April. We have
vouchers for two consecutive weeks. The vouchers are dated for a
one-week period, so separate vouchers are needed for each week.
You will be receiving a set with the 'Noise' (delivered to your homes
within the next couple of days) and they will also be available at the
Chorus concert next Tuesday.
In the meantime, your help in getting these vouchers out to the larger
community would make a huge difference. The program does not cost the
shopper a penny; we are only asking for people to submit their voucher
at the cash register.
At the St. Patrick's Day luncheon for Senior Citizens on Saturday, I
made a sign explaining the program to display on a table, with the
vouchers sitting nearby, so that folks could help themselves. (No
pressure!) Many did take the vouchers. If you are 'connected' to any
kind of upcoming community event (Middle School Musical, parents
meeting, etc), please contact me if you would be willing to set up a
table to have the vouchers readily available.
We have plenty of vouchers already copied; your help in distributing
them to a larger audience will make a huge difference in the proceeds.
(There are several stalwart CCPOPS supporters who already purchased
their year's supply of laundry detergent during the first week of the
program!) Our first week was very successful, but our goal of helping
EVERY student who needs financial aid will only be achieved with a
broader base of shoppers!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Subject: [ccpops] Coming Soon! Fiddler CDs and Videos
Message-ID:
Here is an update on the availability of music CDs and videos from Fiddler
on the Roof:
Thanks, everyone, for your patience as we edit, duplicate, and create
packaging for the CDs and DVDs of Fiddler. The process has taken longer
than we would like this year due to unforseen technical problems behind
the scenes (a catastrophic computer crash set back the editing schedule by
several weeks...), but everything has been sorted out (no original video
was lost) and we will soon deliver our music and video products.
If you have already ordered your music CD and/or video DVD of Fiddler,
stay tuned! We are planning to mail your music CD within two weeks and
your DVD order before the end of June (and I'll update you as we get ready
to send them out).
If you have not ordered but would like to, there is still time if you act
immediately. Just go to the order form at
http://www.ccpops.org/media/Fiddler2004.html, print it out, complete it,
and send with your check to Kathy Boucher (her address is on the form).
Again, thanks for your patience. We are getting close to the finish line!

TO ALL CHORUS MEMBERS
I hope you all had a good week off while I was laid up in bed... we sing on
Tuesday, we have to start getting ready for our next adventure. See below.
>From the Concord Journal
Chorus trip to Europe planned
"The School Committee approved a trip for the high school chorus to the
Czech Republic, Austria and Germany for April, 2005. Choral Director Chuck Brown
said the chorus, numbering around 200, will give performances as well as tour
sites in the three countries. The students will perform in Prague, Vienna,
Salzburg, Zeheleradocjz, and Melk during the week-long tour."
You need to clear your calendar on the 14th -- 24th of next April, 2005.
Those are the are approximate dates for this trip. (Spring Break) We are doing
this, so start saving your nickels and quarters, brush up on you Czech,
Russian, and German, listen closely in your history classes because we are going
to see why W.W.I started, the Franco-Prussian Empire, Hapsburg's finest, and
so much more. This is going to be really exciting and wait to you hear about
our performances. It is the real thing, CCHS Chorus European Tour 2005.
Details as they come in.
See you on Tuesday.

Message-ID: <15a.365bad66.2ded43c6@aol.com>
Dear Parent's of chorus students:
The Chorus trip to Prague, Salzburg and Vienna has been approved by the
school committee and we are ready to begin our initial planning. I need your
help to make this trip a success. First and foremost, I need a talented group
of parents who are willing to work on the trip committee. We need great
managers and people who are willing to see the trip through. If you have some
time and are willing to help, please contact Margie Zuk at
_president@ccpops.org_ (mailto:president@ccpops.org) . Margie will be organizing the committee
and looking for someone to lead it.
Trips like this are extraordinary opportunities for the kids. Traveling to
a new country and seeing different cultures, singing in new and different
venues and exploring the world can have a terrific influence on a child's life.
Doing this with friends in a safe and supportive environment makes it even
more special. Often it is the journey rather than the event that is
remembered. I am really committed to making this a memorable trip for every child.
I am talking about this trip early so that you can plan ahead. It will take
place over spring break in April of 2005. Tentative dates are from April
14th-24th. I expect that we will leave on Thursday evening and miss one day of
school on Friday. Please try to keep these dates available if at all
possible. I would like to have as many chorus students as possible participate.
Parents often ask if there is any way to help or to get involved. Please
take this opportunity to get involved with CCPOPS, our parent organization, and
to get more involved with your child's life.
We will be discussing the trip at the next CCPOPS meeting on Thursday, June
3rd in the CCHS Library. I hope to see you there!

The CCPOPS meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 3rd has been postponed
due to a conflict with the Concord Middle School Chorus Concert. This
is an important meeting to discuss the end of year activities and the
plans for next year, so we would like to reschedule for Monday, June 7th
at 7:00 P.M. in the Chorus Room, I 6.
Please join us as we finalize plans for the Cabaret and Chorus Kick-ball
game, and begin to layout next year. Chuck will be there to share his
vision for the year, including the musicals and the Chorus trip to
Europe in April. We also want to discuss fundraising options.
I know that this is a very busy time of year for all of us, but I hope
that you will come and share your ideas. I am really looking forward to
working with all of you.
See you on Monday!

As most of you know, Chuck Brown's mother passed away earlier this spring. Only a few of us were able to attend the funeral service on Long Island, so we thought that it would be nice to end the year with a service in her honor.
We have scheduled a Memorial Mass for Mary Brown, Chuck's mother, on Tuesday June 22nd at 7:00 P.M. at St. Irene Church in Carlisle. The church is located just outside of Carlisle center at 187 East Street.
Everyone is welcome to attend the service.
The mass will be hosted by students who wish to be in the choir, act as ushers, altar severs, or do a reading. Any student wishing to participate in the choir, or one of these other activities, should come to the rehearsal this Tuesday, June 15th from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at St Irene Church.
I hope that you will be able to join us.

For those participating in the trip, a deposit check of $500 payable to CCPOPS is due on Tuesday. If you have questions about the trip or the meeting, call Margaret Coughlin at 978-372-7558.
Please plan to have dinner at the Chorus/Orchestra BBQ before the meeting. The BBQ will be held in the CCHS Cafeteria Courtyard at 5:00pm. Families are welcome. It is a great opportunity to meet other chorus and orchestra families. Students have been assigned to bring salads/veggies(B Block), chips/snacks(C Block), or desserts(G Block). Hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be provided. If you have questions about the BBQ, call Mary Cheever at 978-369-6861.

Forever Plaid
One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this
deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed
in a car crash on the way to their first big concert, and now
miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams
and perform the show that never was.
This is Forever Plaid and it stars Michael Johnson, Travis Minor, Dylan
Levers and Alex Brewer. Laura Belkner and Meaghan Riley are the
choreographers, Mr. Isaac Brody is the music director and Mr. Chuck
Brown is the director. This is an all-star cast and crew looking forward
to entertaining you with the show that never was.
* October 22 & 23, 7:30 pm Corey Auditorium at the Carlisle School
* October 29 7:30pm in the CCHS Auditorium
* October 30 7:30pm in the CCHS Cafeteria
All seats are general admission - tickets available on line at

Forever Plaid rehearsals are intensifying and the set crew has been hard at work, too!
Check out the latest photos of this Powerful Plaid Production at www.ccpops.smugmug.com or go to www.ccpops.org and click on "Photo Gallery" in the list of links on the right side of the page.
Don't forget, this year you can order prints of any photos directly from smugmug with just a few clicks of your mouse, to be delivered by mail within a few days. (The cost is $0.29 each plus a small shipping charge of, like, $1.50 or something per order). Nothing could be simpler. Viewing all the photos online is free, of course, just as it was last year. So go take a look, and maybe leave a comment or two. You'll be plaid you did!

The Lawton Chiles High School Chorus visit to CCHS has been wonderful so far! From the moment they arrived, we could see the benefits of this type of exchange beginning to unfold: new friendships, shared experiences, and wonderful music as a unified group. Special thanks to all the host families that opened their homes to the visiting students.
On Sunday at 4:00PM the groups will be performing a joint concert in the CCHS Auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend. We will be hosting a Pot Luck Supper for all in the cafeteria following the concert.
Each member of the chorus should bring a dish to contribute to the supper:
B Block: Desserts
C Block: Salads
G Block: Appetizers
The main course will be provided.
Please bring your dish to the cafeteria before the concert. I look forward to seeing all of you on Sunday!

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all
the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her
eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still
married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to
the town's rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, ("I'm not crazy, I've just been in a bad
mood for forty years"); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a
raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M'Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a "good ole boy." Filled with
hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal
collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky
Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden
realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the
strength love underlyingandwhich give the play, and its characters, the special
quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in
good times and bad.
Directed by Chuck Brown, assisted by Alex Spence (CCHS English Department)
and Sam Charm '05, this play features a host of new talent and some faces
you've seen before in new and different roles.

We're happy to announce that Forever Plaid DVDs and Music CDs are now available and easy to order online!
We've even enhanced our DVD offering a little bit. The Forever Plaid DVD has been set up with a menu and chapter links so you can go directly to the different songs in the show (similar to a movie DVD). This is the first time we've been able to put chapters in--Godspell and Fiddler did not have menus.
To order a DVD or Music CD, just go to http://www.ccpops.org/media/ and you'll see the explanations and instructions. Basically, ordering is now as easy as buying show tickets online. Scott Lawrence has set up PayPal to take your order, shipping address and payment. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can set one up very easily while you're online.
Once you've submitted your order, PayPal sends an email to your faithful Archivist detailing the items you've purchased and the address you've asked us to send them to. Then within days I'll mail you your DVDs and CDs.
That's all there is to it! If you have any questions or comments, just email me at jbrewerr@yahoo.com

...Oh, and a note about VHS tapes: we are not officially offering VHS tapes anymore, BUT if you absolutely need to have the show on VHS we can make a VHS copy especially for you. Just send me an email to request it.

We have just received work from Broadway in Boston that the Producers
production dates have changed. Unfortunately the show is now running the
week of February vacation (beginning 2/22) and ending during the first
weekend of our West Side Story production. If you have sent in an order form
for this show, your check will be returned to you. Sorry for the
inconvenience. At this time, it does not appear as though another show will
be filling that time spot.
Our two remaining shows for the year are Phantom of the Opera on April 10th
and Little Shop of Horrors on May 6th.

As I'm sure everyone knows, this year's musical is West Side Story, or WSS
for short. Now that the cast list is posted
(http://ccpops.org/WestSideStory2005/), it is officially West Side Story
Season.
I wanted to let everyone know that information regarding tickets will be in
the CCHS Newsletter, the Noise (CCPOPS), and online (http://ccpops.org
). You can mark your calendars now - tickets will go on
sale Friday, January 28, 2005. See the above mentioned sources for order
forms and ticket purchasing information. I will also send out an announce
when it gets closer (with the forms and information).
If you are interested in helping with the musical and are not sure of how to
get involved, please consider attending the CCPOPS meeting on January 6th.
Your help (no matter how large or small) is greatly appreciated and very
much needed.
