[CitizensTruth] Hidden agendas and the new gas "shortage"

The article cited in Geri's posting is from the April 1 issue of
Business Week:

There Is No Gas Shortage
But Washington, Wall Street, and ethanol and oil and gas companies
want you to think there is, says automotive expert Ed Wallace

by Ed Wallace

I guess the main idea of the article is that gasoline reserves are up
while prices continue to rise, in seeming contradiction to the Law of
Supply and Demand. Fair enough, we can check that. Meanwhile, pardon
me for missing the point, but I couldn't help noticing that the
author mentions one corporate victim of oil price manipulation by
name, and mentions them twice: Pilgrim's Pride.

I thought I would ask Google: pilgrim's pride factory farming

And here are the first hits:

I know it's not the issue at hand, but I have to wonder, why is
writer Ed Wallace so concerned about Pilgrim's Pride? He writes that
they were even forced to lay off 1,100 employees on March 13. Maybe
he hasn't noticed the rest of the economy. For example, Motorola
announced another layoff of 2,600 just today, putting their year-to-
date total over 10,000.
