[CitizensTruth] Any feedback on SPLC?

Does anyone have opinions on the Southern Poverty Law Center?
http://www.splcenter.org    Please don't start a "flame war" on this one.  :-)

I used to donate to them a few years ago, but stopped when they began listing groups in their annual "Year in Hate" compendium that included:

Liberty Dollar/NORFED    (anti-tax/Federal Reserve,  anti-government)
Infowars.com (Alex Jones) (anti-government)

(9/11 Truth groups are not on their list yet)

I am not sure what group (or individual) at the SPLC makes the decisions as to who gets picked for the "Year in Hate" issue.

The folks at the SPLC seem to find 1 or 2 bad people (or "thought crimes") from an organization and deem the entire membership as racist, anti-government, anti-tax, anti-immigration, etc.  

They seem to have expanded from their previous focus on racial injustice (great work) and have developed an Orwellian "thought crimes" big brother surveillance focus on citizen groups and individuals.  They don't seem to criticize governments and public officials whose policies sometimes lead to the formation of these opposition groups.
