"Against Coercion" produced by Video Press of Tokyo in 2006 and distributedby the Labor Video Project.All the Japanese teachers who refuse to sing and stand for the Kimigayo anthem. This Japanese national anthem which pledges allegiance to the Japanese emperor's times isbeing brought back into the schools by concervatives like Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara. Over 1,000 teachers have been fined, suspended and are threatened with being fired for refusing to stand and support this anthem. US teachers and civil rights activists are organizing to build support for their struggle and democratic rights.
