[CitizensTruth] Speaking of SH**y stuff going on with corporateagriculture: National Animal Identification System

While I agree with the point that we'll all be a lot healthier when we cut meat out of our diet, I still think how agriculture is controlled and 'regulated' in this country should be of concern to all of us. Daniel's message about strangling small farmers with regulations (and subsidizing corporate farming at the same time) impacts all of us since we're all threatened by the huge amounts of pesticides, for instance, that corporate farming relies on, polluting the land, water, etc. We can eat the best diet available but we're all still living in the same world and it all 'comes home to roost' eventually, if you'll pardon the expression.

There's lots that would rectify itself if there was way, way less
meat, poultry and fish eaten. Seems to me I recall that we have now
destroyed/depleted about 90% of the life in the ocean...is that a
stunner or what? You'd never know it, to go into restaurants. it
doesn't look like anything has changed at all. And the amazing
stories of the floodwaters first killing thousands and thousands of
pigs and piglets just left to die, merged with the huge pits of their
excrement, etc., etc. Now with the hot weather, must be incredibly
toxic down south. What does one do with thousands of rotting pig
carcasses, anyway? Does the smell ever, ever go away?
Enjoy your next pork chop, folks...
