The Dissident Voice article is an excellent read.

Talk about collective unconscious. I was mulling over the subject,  
too; something like this: civilization is headed over a cliff. Some  
of us are waking up and trying to alert our companions. But there are  
some people who are doing their darndest to push the whole apparatus  
over. Many who brought about the Bush presidency and continue to  
promote its most egregious offenses come to mind, for example.

It's important to recognize this behavior and understand what keeps  
persons working at our common undoing. I don't think any analysis I  
have seen so far - "illuminati", "ruling class", "neocons",  
"sociopaths", "reptilians", "global banking cartel" - pulls it all  
together. The DV article is a major advance.
