Yesterday [Sept 14] in a local report on KTRK-TV in Houston, TX,  
reporter Wayne Dolcefino revealed that media have been blocked from  
covering Hurricane Ike’s devastation.


I guess it's on a need-to-know basis, like talking to survivors of  
Katrina:

If a resident invites the media to the trailer, they have to be  
escorted by a FEMA representative who sits in on the interview,” FEMA  
spokesperson Rachel Rodi is quoted in the article. “That’s just a  
policy.”
