*So Wall Street Wants A Bailout - But To Hell With Main Street - Or Else!*
We are threatened with another "great" Depression if we don't bail out
the banks - we have to add to our debt to make up for their bad debt -
or else.
No thanks. These people have broken the unspoken contract with everyday
people long ago.
They kept jacking up the prices, charging more and ever more "fees" and
interest, all the while running non-stop advertising; "Buy this, you'll
be ten years younger." "Buy the big house, you'll be able to afford it,
you'll get raises later or you can sell it at a profit." Yet the raises
never come, are never enough, and you can't sell it at all anymore. "If
you don't buy this new TV/Stereo/phone/computer/car/_____ you'll be
obsolete, you'll be a bum, you'll be yesterday's news." They deregulate
the utility prices, and I don't know a soul not paying at least double
if not triple what they were paying for natural gas and electric five
years ago. Yet are we taking home triple what we were five years ago?
People say "free markets, get rid of the regulations, it'll fix
everything, and we'll all be rich and...happy?" So, HOW IS THAT WORKIN'
OUT FOR YA, AMERICA??? They've turned the Ferenghi loose AGAIN, and look
where we are.
They want to drop another huge economic bomb on the Average Joe/Jane
again? They want to up our taxes again for THAT? We don't pay enough
taxes yet?
What are we getting for all these taxes we pay?
The strongest military on Earth? Iraq and Afghanistan have them so
bogged down they can't handle anything else, and the President has to
hire a private army at huge expense to "help out," aka Blackwater and
the like. The National Guard had to be called in so they aren't here at
home when hurricanes and tornadoes and fires come.
Great health care? You still have to wait to schedule anything
life-threatening, and an awful; lot of emergency rooms have long waits.
What is this, Canada? Nope, the Canadians don't get bad credit because
they don't get billed. Ever looked at how much is deducted from your
check stub every pay day for health "insurance?" I know it's about a
$1,000.00 a month plus for me.
Great schools? Ever seen our latests rankings against the rest of the
world? How thrilled are teachers with things these days? You know, the
people who actually know how to teach?
How much cash do you have left to save for retirement or buy Christmas
and birthday presents of late? What? You've been buying those on your
credit cards but they're all maxed out now?
Isn't consumerism and a government run by "fiscal deregulators" grand?
They think government sucks, and they are running it in a fashion meant
to prove it. To hell with anyone hungry or homeless, or needing an
education so they can be productive. The "mentally disabled?" They got
put out on the streets in the 1980's. Don't look too close at that pile
of reeking old clothes in the alley, America. The physically disabled? I
have friends who are fighting chronic illnesses that are being treated
like dirt and left without medications or food left right and sideways
these last few years.
Got great jobs America? How's the fast food and discount store market
doing ya? Hey, didn't you used to work at the factory down the street?
Too bad they moved production to Taiwan/Mexico/China/Korea/Vietnam -
yep, Vietnam. I have shirts made there. These days, I'm pleasantly
shocked when I can find a product with "made in the USA" on its label. I
still wonder about the parts that went into it, if its anything nearly
complicated to have parts. Guess you'll have to drive that hour or two
into the city, if you can find something there that covers your gasoline
costs. Or you can go on the train and spend double the time in transit
unless you're lucky enough to live right on top of the tracks.
Got a clean environment? Living polar bears or any fish in the oceans?
Fish you can eat more than once a week without getting mercury poisoning?
I could go on and on, but "privatization" and "free markets" have
brought us to the point where the only American companies making any
money are defense contractors and oil companies.
All this, and the bosses want to drop economic Armageddon on us if we
don't all fork over about $3,000.00 - just for starters, might be more.
I don't think so.
How about we all do this - stop paying that mortgage that is eating half
or more of your paycheck. Just cut it out, stop sending the checks.
Cancel the homeowners' insurance, the car insurance, the health
insurance. Don't drive a friggin' mile you don't have to. Stop paying
credit card bills. Don't buy a dang thing you don't absolutely have to
in order to eat and keep from freezing. Turn the thermostat way down or
burn wood. Turn the TV's off, unplug anything you don't have to keep
running. Burn candles unless you really need a big light. Hey, tea
lights are romantic. Let's all develop Great Depression consumption
habits before they hand us the official version. As your surviving
Grandparents for tips. They'll love that you finally had some time to
spend with them.
You see, we the Average Joes 'n Janes could drop an economy bomb too.
They just don't believe we could all get together enough to do it.
How about, if Wall Street gets a debt reset on us, we get a debt reset
too? Every loan, globally, at every level, is wiped out. Reset the
entire friggin' WORLD'S balance sheets, or else. Hey, and while your at
it, knock off all the BS fees, give us hand-counted paper elections
reporting at the precinct level with citizen observers guaranteed
seating at the counts, utterly divested media, and a cap on taxation of
5% Federal, 5% state, and 5% local, period, that's all they get and in
sales taxes only.
Nobody owes anyone a friggin' penny, let alone a dime.
What do you think, Cats - can we make a herd and whup this mess?
Oh, and throw in a good night's sleep at least twice a week while
they're at it.
It's time we got our "ruling-class leaders" to get it: they need to KISS
OUR CLASS.
