According to a recent report of the financial sector, American taxpayers
are now on the hook for almost $24 TRILLION:

<QUOTE>: "The total potential federal government support could reach up
to $23.7 trillion," says Neil Barofsky, the special inspector general
for the TARP, in a report released today. For full article:

Dennis Kucinich, questioning Neil Barofsky, charged that taxpayers are
being handed one fraud after another, even as each fraud is initially
touted as the means of solving the financial crisis. Even worse says
Kucinich, while we [mistakenly] think we've solved the problem the Fed
is in effect paying banks NOT to make loans to small business and
struggling Americans (which means that the "money" supply on "main
street" is shrinking even as taxpayers are bailing out big banks and
Wall Street to an unprecedented degree):

Who provides the money the Fed is using to keep the banks for making
loans (and thereby creating "money" for Main Street)? The taxpayer of
course.
