  hello truthy friends,

I wanted to share a quick protest success story 
  done with some good humor.

I know that we all come from a variety of 
  religous beliefs, but hopefully we all agree that this particular group is 
  mostly just mean and hurtful and divisive.

I am talking about the 
  Westboro Baptists (from Kansas, who are famous for protesting at the funerals 
  of dead american soldiers with signs that say "God Hates Fags") who came to 
  Chicago so that they could protest Jews because they believe that God hates 
  Jews.

I went to 3 of their 6 protests on Monday and helped wage some 
  counter protesting,

I convinced a group of friends from a show I 
  perform with called "The Best Church of God" to wage a satirical protests with 
  me for the evening protest at The Auditorium Theatre and it was a huge 
  success.  The Westboro crew were scheduled to protest the Don Rickles 
  performance for 90 minutes and they ended up leaving after just 40 minutes 
  because of our presence.
