DAY OF ACTION RALLY
Thursday, June 18th, 2009 - 11:30 a.m.
Thompson Center (100 W. Randolph, Chicago, IL)

On May 31st, the Illinois General Assembly passed a budget that will have devastating effects on
children and families. If new revenue sources are not identified by July 1st, major cuts to human
services and education programs will go into effect. Up to 80,000 families - roughly 150,000
children - will lose their child care, and Preschool for All could be eliminated for the
100,000 children currently in the program.
This budget will go into effect on July 1st unless we change its destiny.
You must act because our elected offcials did not!

We are expecting thousands of people from Chicago and around the state
to rally against cuts to early childhood education and child care, care for
the elderly, support for foster parents, mental health services, services for
those with disabilities, domestic violence and sexual assault services...
The list goes on!

We will not support these cuts to vital programs and services for the people of Illinois. We need action now!
