The first 2008 presidential debate between Senator Obama and Senator 
McCain will focus on foreign policy and will occur this coming Friday.

Will moderator Jim Lehrer of PBS ask the candidates what they intend to 
do to bring about peace between Israelis and Palestinians? There is 
just one debate between the candidates focused on foreign policy, so if 
the question is not addressed in this debate, it may not be addressed 
in any debate.

We're teaming up with Jewish Voice for Peace, United for Peace and 
Justice, the Council on American Islamic Relations, and the US Campaign 
to End the Israeli Occupation to urge Jim Lehrer to ask the candidates 
what they intend to do to end Israeli settlement expansion in the 
occupied Palestinian territories, which the U.S. government has long 
acknowledged is a key stumbling block to peace.
