I think this is a very important topic,<br><br>Clearly the elite were organizing/promoting the "revolution" so the question is why?<br><br>One reason gets at the heart of what is going on in this thread: fan the flames of the illusory right vs left dichotomy.<br><br>If they can keep the discussion and the "movement" as DEMS vs GOP, right vs. left then they will successfully prevent WE THE PEOPLE from joining together to fight against who we ought to fight against: the people who are <b>UP</b> above us in terms of wealth and power and who are simultaneously down below us in terms of compassion/morality. This includes every member of the Bush and Obama regimes.<br><br>The reality is we are not stuck in right vs left paradigm but we are stuck in a grand pyramid scheme.<br><br>The longer we fail to recognize this divide and conqour technique the more successfully they will divide the people and keep us squabbling at each other and not notice the criminals laughing their way to the bank.<br><br>This Gary vs. Iggy situation was a perfect example and Iggy sadly swallowed the hook and bolted with it lodged in his intestine.<br><br>They were both right. Iggy was right to point out who was controlling the tea party, but Iggy failed to notice that the signs Gary was asking people to print were not anti-left nor anti-obama but they were anti- fed and anti establishment. Why should we let any "wing" highjack a people's revolution? We more then anyone should definitely have gone to the Fox/NPR designed tea parties so that our voice is represented and we can help the people understand that they are not right wing nor left wing but have a common cause which is to stop the criminals in both parties who are stealing and murdering at will.<br><br>I think the elite know that a revolution of some kind is in the making with the way things are going so it makes sense that they get on board and lead the mice and sheep around rather then allowing the people to control their own protest. I've read some indy media folks who believe that a civil war type situation is a very real possibility here in the not too distant future. If they can successfully get people riled up and turn it into a violent left vs. right rebellion then they will be able to confuse and diffuse the people while implementing stricter big brother/martial law restrictions.<br><br>Lets not feed into their plans. While this article speaks mainly to the anti-war movement, there are points that apply more broadly and I'd be curious to know what other people on this list think of the analysis in it.<br><br>Back to Iggy's point about this "Tea Party" movement, it IS remarkable that now not only Fox News but NPR and other media outlets are promoting this BEFORE the events even happen! Has that happened to a lot of activities you all have organized? Not that I've seen! We get next to no coverage when there are 1000s in the street. <br><br>We are in a very tense moment right now in this country and the world, with huge stakes, and the ruling class (or call it the establishment or whatever you want--those holding the power and commanding the military might) is faced with huge problems that we will bear the brunt of--from ongoing wars, increasing military budgets, financial meltdown ameliorated by mega-bailouts of
the financial forces at the heart of it, cuts in social services just when they are most desperately needed, and only the prospect of more and worse. So now we get a supposedly liberal president who we're supposed to believe has our best interests at heart in charge of all of the above? Far too many good people are buying this and taking a "wait and see" attitude that only enables the above scenario of rescuing a bankrupt SYSTEM (not just Wall Street or any other element thereof) while crimes in our name escalate and millions suffer here and around the world. (Just two very current examples: There are now estimated to be 15,000 homeless <span style="font-style: italic;">children</span> in New York CITY alone, and one million people have been driven from their homes in NW Pakistan by US military drones devastating whole villages there. in recent weeks)<br><br>Now we have a 'populist movement' springing up around the country, heralded by media across the
extremely narrow spectrum of 'acceptable opinion,' that has an equally narrow and individualist message that may well be aimed at destabilizing that same president. I for one don't know enough about this movement and would appreciate any information and background that others can share about it, preferably from a range of sources.
