Dunya Dianne McPherson is
a Juilliard graduate, Sufi adept, and originator
of the healing
movement system, Dancemeditation
(http://dancemeditation.org). She
specializes in techniques that open the
wonderment of deep, subtle,
peaceful self-perception. Her approach to
dance as a mystical
communion opens doorways into the soul. Most workshops
feel like a
hard day of shopping, desperately searching for something to
make you
look beautiful. Dunya’s are like a day at the spa: you feel
relaxed,
refreshed, and perfectly beautiful, just naked in your own skin.

dancers and movement artists seeking to enhance
improvisation
ability, feel the music, stop thinking on stage, or dance
their true
selves.

Saturday, Dancemeditation:
11:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Dancemeditation is a unique, integrated
movement meditation system for
healing self discovery. It approaches
dance as a meditation and meditation
as a dance. Both are an entwined
opportunity to explore the relationships
between self-&-other,
self-&-cosmos, self-with-Self and self-to-the Divine
Eternal. By
encouraging receptivity, creativity and present-ness,
Dancemeditation
cultivates our inherent ability to heal and self-regulate.

Sunday, Spiritual Bellydance: 11AM - 5
PM
Explore this versatile, ancient, evolving,
nature-connected dance as
meditation and self restoration. Experience
the beauty and mysticism in
the dance by pursuing a somatic interior
root of the form’s subtle
isolations and trance-y rhythmic substrata.
Bring a veil (extras will be
on hand).

Performance: Sat, 8/9 7:30 PM
Dance performance and readings form her new work, Skin of Glass,
plus performances by workshop participants
