Please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested. Love & thanks, Alia Call to Artists: Musicians Alia Thabit, a VT Juried Artist , is looking for musicians interested in playing traditional and avant garde Middle Eastern dance music, with the object of doing a few paid shows by the end of the year, and the potential to continue working together after these events. Rehearsals would be in the upper right quadrant of VT (STJ, WRJ, &/or Montpelier areas). Interest in and/or experience with Middle Eastern music is preferred, ability to improvise is essential, and a fun, laid-back attitude is encouraged. Western instruments are fine, as long as you can bend notes to get microtones (this where the "blue note" comes from). Professional-quality musicians only, please. Musicians wishing to dip a toe into this possibility are invited to attend the upcoming Arabic Music Master classes in St. Johnsbury VT on 9/20-21. More information is here: http://www.earth-goddess.com/specialevents.html. *Scholarships are available.* For more information, please contact Alia Thabit at 802 324 0564, or email alia at earth-goddess.com.
