A many-to-many mesh chat protocol (decentralized) would be interested, but
probably more complicated than it's worth.
A client could act as a hub and relay chat messages between multiple
connected chat sessions and this would be entirely within the client
(not dcc2 related) and accomplish the same effect.

I'd have to agree that the currently published negotaition draft is
nowhere close to being finished. Implementing something based on it
would be counter productive at this point.
The newer files draft addresses many of the multi-file issues raised
on this mailing list, but there have been many negotiation issues
raised on this list that haven't made it into a negotiation draft.
Dan, I hope you're assembling a list of negotiation issues that have
been raised. There have been so many that It may be good to assemble
a single message listing them all out so they can be addressed by
everyone.
