Very true.. it's not going to make warez on IRC any more easy than it
already is. It does provide a nice little layer to make one less step (
zipping ) for those people who are not totally computer litterate (I
actually did meet someone the other day who knows alot about computers
but has never used a zip program before o.O). IRC is certainly a great
way for people of all ability to chat together, and if it makes it
easier for even a small number of users to use, it's worth it.
Not to mention the fact that "use a zip instead" means someone actually
has to download *a third party program*, when if DCC2 supports it, they
don't.
When you look at channels like irc.us.rizon.net:7000/warezx,
irc.absurd-irc.net:6667/DC-WAREZ, irc.us.rizon.net:7000/WAREZGROUP,
irc.us.rizon.net:7000/porn, irc.us.rizon.net:7000/RAP-ALBUMS,
irc.criten.net:6667/TMD-Moviez, irc.us.rizon.net:7000/ISOCORE (top few
channels from netsplit.de channel listing by user count), etc, etc you
can see some of IRC is already a mass p2p network. DCC2 having
multi-file sends isn't going to make it any better or worse.

There are *always* uses that nobody can see at the beginning.
I think extra features like multi-file sends are a good idea for the
little extra effort it requires from developers.
