One of the best, wisest, most spiritual things we can do is allow 
ourselves to be loved by God. None of us has reached the point where we 
no longer need God's love. None of us ever will.

You may be a powerful spiritual warrior, but you need God's love. You 
may be wise and mature and godly, but you need God's love. You may know 
your Bible better than any of us, but you need God's love. You may be a 
veteran preacher or missionary, but you need God's love.

Opening ourselves up to God is a life-time process. But it is also a 
decision we make every day. Will we let Jesus in? Will we acknowledge 
who we really are and allow Jesus to enter our hearts to transform us by 
His love?

In our songs, in our praise and in our prayers, we may affirm that we 
love God. But our love for God is nothing compared to His love for us.

In context, this passage is about Paul's concern for the Corinthians -- 
his desire for an open, loving exchange with them. But it reflects God's 
heart. God is love. Love has needs, the need for someone to receive that 
love. Jesus wept over Jerusalem because the city was unwilling to 
receive Him.

Do we love God? If we do, then one way we can show Him that love is by 
allowing Him to love us.
