I want to thank those of you who have been praying for my wife, Kim.
Here's an update after visiting the doctor yesterday.
Kim has a tumor about 1 to 2 cm in diameter in the center of her right
kidney. Doctors do not know whether it is malignant or benign. They want
to re-examine her after three months to see if the tumor has grown. If
the tumor proves malignant, then there is the possibility of freezing
it, burning it, removing it (with a good chance of damaging the kidney),
or removing the whole kidney. Reading between the lines in the report
given by the doctors, it appeared to me that the tumor may have shrunk
from the time it was first noticed, but I could be wrong about that.
She also has kidney stones in both the right and left kidney. The one in
the left kidney is probably too large to pass on its own, the one in the
right is borderline. Stones this size can sit there for a great deal of
time and cause no harm. Or they can break lose at any time causing not
only pain, but potential damage to the kidney - and possibly even shut
down the functioning of the kidney until removed. The doctor says there
is virtually no chance these stones will dissolve on their own.
(However, a few weeks ago, Kim had quite a number of kidney stones and
most of them appear to be gone now.)
We pause here before scheduling procedures to have the stones removed
because we want to give God a chance to work. Thank you for your
prayers; they do make a profound difference. I would like to show this
doctor that God is able to do what modern medicine says cannot be done.
However, God is smarter than I am, so I pray that this will unfold in a
way that pleases Him.
Again, thank you so much!
Dwight
