Some people are uncomfortable with the word "miracle." And I can see 
why. Like a dishcloth that has been used too many times, the word 
"miracle" has had most of its meaning wrung out of it, and, for some, 
the word has begun to stink.

But, since I don't have another word, I need to use this one. Without 
miracles, you cannot live the Christian life.

The life God has given us is impossible. There is only one way to 
accomplish the impossible. We need a miracle. Sometimes we need many 
miracles.

In ancient times, God saw that there might be some confusion over 
whether or not a miracle was really necessary. So He told Gideon to 
start sending his soldiers home. When they couldn't get rid of enough of 
them fast enough, God showed Gideon a quick way to sift and sort his 
army down from 30,000 to 300.

300. At that point, God had something He could work with. I can almost 
picture Him smiling and rubbing His hands together. Finally! Things were 
hopeless, helpless, and impossible, and everybody knew it.

Just in case everything is going wrong for you, consider the possibility 
that God is sending your resources home so He can whittle His way down 
to hopeless, helpless and impossible. Consider the possibility that God 
might be looking for a chance to do a miracle.
