He simply must have. To my way of thinking, a boat taking on a gallon an hour is in serious doo-doo. Whether it's because of the keel-to-hull joint, stuffing box - both - or something else is the question. If the boat suffered a hard grounding, the impact could indeed wreak some havoc. But, really, this is a lot of hearsay at the moment, without a lot of real info to go on.
