EMS pilot in Afghanistan

We had a pilot who volunteered to go to Iraq, his spot was held for the year.  This summer we will have several pilots going to Kosovo, their spots will be held and filled with OT or temporary pilots.

  It also says it's an EMS pilot who is the Guard reserves, so I guess the 
  question is can't you do the same thing with a BK 117?
