Tammi, unfortunately the majority of people who wanted to see "Humblers" were turned away due to room size or poor planning for room size. I missed several talks due to this. I would recommend you do it again next year for the majority who couldnt be there and the second one also... and request a ballroom for both. good luck. Eric

Subject: More Humbler's
Dear All:
. Some of you may have attended the presentation in Austin on "Humbler's, When
Big Procedures Go Big Time Bad" presented by Peter Werlin and myself.
Basically, the talk is about those calls or procedures that went wrong or bad
and effected patient outcome. We presented them in a way so that we can all
learn from others experiences. These were cases that we had been involved in.
The presentation was well received and we would like to expand our talk to
include other's experiences with difficult calls. We are soliciting cases for
the next AMTC for Humbler's II. We would like to gather more cases that
possibly demonstrated a procedure that went bad, poor communication, lack of
teamwork, or just in general an all around bad call. We realize the sensitive
nature of these types of situations and all identifying factors would be removed
and completely confidential.
If you would like to share your story and help others learn from your experience
please email me at tamslater at comcast.net or contact me via phone.
Thanks,
Tammi Slater, RN
