Granted the price of glass doesn't fluctuate much, but after having 100's of greasy fingers touch a lens I'd want more off. Its one thing if its used off of craigslist where one or maybe two people have used it. Totally different from a rental shop IMO. Its been shipped around the country, beaten and banged up by who knows who.
