Deadline for Idea of Self - an unusual take on self portraiture: November 12th. Click here for details. Responding to Economic Conditions Like everyone, The Center for Fine Art Photography is very sensitive to today's economic conditions. In order to make its exhibitions accessible to as many photographers as possible, the Center will be presenting work in its gallery without framing for the foreseeable future. That is, images will be exhibited with mats only. This will substantially reduce exhibitors' costs of preparing and shipping their work. More details can be found in the prospectus for each of the current calls for entry:The Idea of Self and Perspective . Robert Ketchum Workshop We are very excited to have Robert Glenn Ketchum visiting The Center for Fine Art Photography during its opening of Our Environment, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, November 7th. Robert will be conducting a workshop November 8 and 9 entitled. There are a few openings remaining. Anyone seriously interested in affecting peoples attitudes about the environment or other social issues through their photography will want to attend this workshop. Ketchum is internationally recognized for his affect on social conscience and change through his photography, and by his visits with Congressional and other international leaders concerned for our environment. For more details and to register for his workshop, click here.. New Artists' ShowCase Portfolio call for entries The Center is now accepting entries for the second issue of Artists' ShowCase Portfolio, juried by Rixon Reed of Photo-Eye . This portfolio call for entries is open until December 3rd, 2008. Colleen Plumb received the Solo Exhibition Award for the first issue portfolio. Click here for more for more details about the 2nd portfolio competition. 2009 Brings New Opportunities We have some really exciting plans for 2009, including invitational solo shows and more workshops by some of the leaders in photography. Please visit the Center's website frequently for new exhibitions online and announcements. Feedback We will be revamping the Center's website in the near future and are seeking input from regular visitors. Anything you can offer in the way of constructive critique will be very helpful. Please send your comments to larry at c4fap.org. It will help if you put "Website" in the subject line. As we go through this economic cycle, give thanks to those who have brought us the cost efficiencies of digital photography.
