<div>1Up posted Jeremy Parish's follow-up article to their article on Michael Jackson, this time discussing the ephemeral, immaterial aspects of his influence on games (mainly, that his music played in the background of arcades). I think we've discussed the sound and atmosphere of video arcades before, just not in regards to specific music playing in the background. Incidentally, the biggest thing I remember from growing up as a kid was the arcade in the skating rink - and how I sucked at the games and a quarter was worth a hell of a lot of money back then. This kind of material you can only probably retain in photo documentation, perhaps in a book on adolescent culture of the 80s and 90s.</div>
