HERSTORY PROJECT TO GET OWN DESK AND COMPUTER STATION

Since it's beginning in 1999, the CWLU Herstory Project has been
a loose volunteer network of former CWLU members and their supporters.
We generally communicate via phone and e-mail because our busy
schedules don't allow for many face to face meetings.

Most of the computer production is done in Estelle Carol's home studio
on equipment that is also used for her graphic design business. Most
of our paper archives are in Estelle's attic with more collections
housed in other members' homes.

Estelle has offered a space in her home as a Herstory Project
workstation. We're buying office furniture and installing
donated computer equipment. Now interns and researchers have a
supervised and welcoming place to help out on various projects.

We'll let you know when we have our "Grand Opening".

Jennifer Abod and Angela Bowen presented their video "The
Edge of Each Other's Battles" about feminist writer Audre Lorde

and how they shaped the work of Audre Lorde. They are now working on a
video biography of Angela Bowen. Angela Bowen has had a rich life that
includes her activities in the Black cultural movement as well as the
feminist and gay liberation movements.

The Herstory Project will be sharing resources and networking contacts
with Angela Bowen and Jennifer Abod in the hopes that we will be able
to help one another in our work.
We are also going through the entire site and upgrading the computer

misspellings and wayward links as we find them. Please report these to
us at infogal@cwluherstory.org. We try to catch them, but it's sure
not a pixel-perfect world.
