I agree that good programmers have problems with leap seconds,
partly due to POSIX not doing what I think is the correct
thing, but again, I see the proper thing is to fix POSIX,
not break leap seconds.

And I haven't ignored the practical issues you've raised.
I don't agree with your conclusions, but that doesn't
mean I ignored the issues.
