For the 2007 meeting of SG7 the US SG7 responded to the calls for an
internationally recognized uniform broadcast time scale by
contributing a document that suggested the ITU-R endorse GPS time as a
recommended time scale. The BIPM objected strongly to that -- at the
same time their contribution to WP7A suggested that TAI might be
suppressed.

I find this combination of actions sufficiently odd to mention.
