Financial markets. Individual markets work limited hours each day, and
not every day. (Major markets work overlapping hours, so that globally
there are markets open 24 hours a day, but still not every day.) Trades
happen so frequently that they must be timestamped down to *micro*seconds;
being a second out of synch would cause reconciliation problems.
Currently, a June leap second can occur while far-east markets are open.
