Tables & MathML?

First, thanks John and others for a wonderful tool.  I've been searching
for a good markup language for life hacking & keeping my text documents
together and Markdown fits the bill.  There was some discussion in April
about how best to do MathML in Markdown, was there ever a solution addressed?
Also, with regards to table syntax, will this ever get supported?
I assume from reading the lists that bulleted markdown is supported
already but I haven't tested it out yet.
