no. it might be 7-bit ascii (which might fit _your_ definition),

that's what all the non-believers say. i think they're wrong.
i think markdown in its current form does a very good job.
and i think it can be made even more capable down the line.

right now, the chain is markdown -> xhtml -> browser display.
let's eliminate the middle step by incorporating it into the browser.
