Formatting MTEntryKeywords, MTEntryExcerpt with Markdown

So, I don't know the answer.
I do know that with MT's regular static Perl mode, you only get text
filtering on the MTEntryBody and MTEntryMore fields. If you want a
text filter like Markdown or Markdown With SmartyPants to be applied
to another field, like MTEntryExcerpt, you need to specify the
filter in a 'filter' attribute. For example, I use Markdown With
SmartyPants filtering on the MTEntryExcerpt field in my regular RSS
feed. Here's the relevent portion of the template:
<description>
<$MTEntryExcerpt filters='markdown_with_smartypants' encode_xml='1'$>
</description>
