Seconded.  It's simpler than Jelks' example.  MD-processed blobs that
contain both inline <code> and <pre><code> blocks suffer unfortunate CSS
cascading, only solved with adjacent selector rules that aren't reliably
supported in browsers.

<pre> can be <pre> and <code> can be <code>.  They needn't and shouldn't
be combined.
