Markdown JavaScript Toolbar

I just noticed that the comments page of MooFlex has a Markdown-enabled
toolbar. See the comments area at the bottom of the page.

Is this a custom script? Is there a project that does this already? Note:
the script is available here: http://www.mad4milk.net/scripts/toolbar.js.

If there is not an open source project that does this, I'd be willing to
start and contribute the initial implementation.
