License for Markdown Syntax Documentation

Howdy,

I've packaged Markdown for Debian.  Some users have requested that I
include the syntax documentation in the package:

 http://bugs.debian.org/285253

The only copyright notice that I could find on

 http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax

is "Copyright (C) 2002-2005 John Gruber".  Would you please release
this documentation under the same license as the rest of Markdown or
under another license that meets the Debian Free Software Guidelines?
