On Saturday, March 13, a group descending from Bow Hut remotely triggered
numerous size 2 avalanches in the moraines below the hut and at the head of
the canyon below the Onion Skin. These avalanches were releasing on the
March 8 surface hoar layer down 40 cm.
This is a popular time of year to do the Wapta Traverse, but groups should
pay serious attention to the current avalanche conditions.
