Climbed Huber this am. Darn close to perfect conditions. Dry rock, full depth freeze on the well covered glacier and softening snow at 9am for the NE facing slope to the summit. Would not have wanted to be on that NE face much after 10am though as it felt like it was getting weak fast in the sun.
Another party was on Lefroy and reports that it is still climbable on snow from top to bottom.
There have been a few big wet loose snow avalanches in the afternoon heat and cornices are huge and spooky. It has recently been a warm, scary, snowy world above 3000m in the afternoon. Get up and get down early on a good day if you go snow climbing. Otherwise, go rock climbing.
