[MCR] Roger's Pass Conditions

Public Mountain Conditions Report mcr at informalex.org
Sat Sep 1 13:30:39 EDT 2012

Hi Everyone,

Conditions at the Pass today are unfavourable for alpine climbing.

This morning at 0700 the low temp at 1315 metres was 5.0 C. Presently
raining lightly. 5 millimetres of rain overnight with dramatic convective
activity that shook the compound in the wee hours of the morning....

FL's to approximately 1800-1900 metres (just below TL). However, the
forecast does call for an improving trend as the week progresses. The
results of this storm more than likely will require a few days to put things
back into shape with solar aspects coming around sooner than their northerly
counterparts.

Keep in mind the Superindendent closure for the Hermitt/Tupper area that I
posted yesterday that will take place Tuesday September 4th and Wednesday
September 5th for the detonation of dud Howitzer ordinances. No activity is
permitted during this time.

Of further note, there is a collared Sow Grizz lurking around in the Asulkan
just as of yesterday. She appears to be moving back and forth between
Connaught and Asulkan drainages. Keep this in mind when travelling up
there.

Best Regards,
