[MCR] Prohibited Activity Notice - Mount Cheops, Glacier National Park, September 10, 2013

[Public Mountain Conditions Report]

Climbers and scramblers please take note of the following closure on September 10th, 2013:
All slopes and climbing routes on Mount Cheops will be closed to all activities Tuesday, September 10, 2013.  The closed area has the same boundaries as the Cheops and Cheops North Winter Restricted Areas, however the Balu Pass Trail remains open.
 
Explanation:
Blasting operations are scheduled to take place on Mount Cheops in Glacier National Park on Tuesday, September 10th, 2013.  The purpose of these operations is to safely remove, by detonation, unexploded military ordinance that was fired as part of Parks Canada's Avalanche Control Program.
