It is currently winter in the alpine along the Rockies Divide. Amounts vary widely but a rough estimate would be around 25cm of snow in a sheltered location at 2800m. Last night, I would estimate that the wind blew around 100-125 km/hr at the pass and that certainly moved some snow around!! No reactive windslabs on the slope below the hut but I would feel pretty lonely up on Victoria or Lefroy right now!
Good travel with the new snow up to the hut but then there is bad news-no more firewood. Damn!! It was -2c in the hut when we got there and it was stupidly cold all night as we portioned out the last lonely little log.
