[MCR] essondale right

[Public Mountain Conditions Report]

I attempted to climbed Essondale Right yesterday.   I backed off the crux pitch which is the upper tier in the photo.   I belayed in a cave on the right - part way up the crux pitch.  The only shelter belay spot at the moment.   From there on to the steep curtain the ice was extremely dry and brittle with absolutely no gear.   I felt that I couldn’t lead it safely.   I would suspect that the fluctuation of the temperatures had something to do with it.
