[MCR] Lake Louise Conditions

[Public Mountain Conditions Report]

A flight in the Lake Louise area today revealed the following.

Still very snowy at treeline and above. Estimated 15cm new snow over last
weeks melt. A few slab avalanches noted about 1 week old triggered by
cornice failure or snowballing on northerly aspects about 40cm  deep.

The Chouinard route on Fay has a terrifying leaning serac. There is almost
no ice bulge left on the centre couloir.  The Perren is still very snowy
and would be a tough slog unless frozen hard. The 3-31/2 looks in good
shape. The ice is just off Moraine Lake with a few patches left. The
tourist route on Mt. Temple is some time from being passable with snow
patches well down below treeline on the Larch Valley trail. Tower of Babel
has snow on the ski jump and snow patches on the upper pitches.

Lots of snow on the descent from Castle Mt. Mt. Edith still has a few snowy
patches. Escargot looks good. See attached photos
