Block Signal problems

Hi Ben & Others:
                My neighbor, two doors down, is an NS signal repair man, 
who's prime responsibility is on the old Virginian, working out of Whitethorn from 
Pearisburg to Ellett.
However; he is on call and goes in and out at all hours, going any where they 
send him.
                I will just pass on a conversation that we had about a week 
ago. I ask him when NS was going to replace the old position signals at the 
West portal of Montgomery Tunnel. His answer was, "Who knows?" He went on to say 
that these old signals were in such poor shape that NS wouldn't let them climb 
them now. They have given him a huge diesel, track mobile type, bucket truck 
to use. He also said that some law said that he couldn't be in that size truck 
but 34 hours a week, so he doesn't work as much as he used to with that 
truck. If he works overtime, which he does often, he has to use a borrowed truck, 
and not work on jobs where the bucket truck is required. Although, he didn't 
say as much, I thought he was as mystified as to what NS is doing as we are.
