Consider this, IF management hadn't re-routed the coal trains, we would have gotten only 3-5 hours of track time per day out of our scheduled ten hour work day, forcing us to have to work up to three weeks extra, this meant the company would have to pay 50 m-o-w employees, including myself,up to 120 extra hours of wages, fuel and food, plus thrown my gang three weeks off it's production schedule, causing further conjestion on down the year. At least the coal trains kept running, on many of our jobs, we have to stop the trains completely while we work, and what happens, if we don't work??? If you could see the rotten ties we are replacing on the old L&D line, you would let us work too.
Sometimes the best way only looks good on paper.
